Set of six flat-backed chairs in light grey and gold painted wood. Violin backrest and arched feet finished in volutes.
Rich decoration of mirrors and flowers on a background of foliage in rockery reserves, flowers and foliage.
Two of them have slight differences in decoration, particularly in the patterns centering the belt crosspieces, and the small leaf-shaped protrusions placed at the mid-height of the backs.
Five of them are stamped with Jean Gourdin's stamp.

They are furnished with lampas embroidered with foliage and flowers (wear).
Probably Jean-Baptiste Gourdin (received master in 1748) who worked in rue de Cléry under the sign "Nom de Jésus" near his father's workshop. He apprenticed with the sculptor Toussaint-Folliot and in his father's workshop.
He had a rich clientele including the Prince of Soubise and the dolphin
Marie-Antoinette.
