MEYERBEER (Giacomo) (1791-1864). Set of 6 documents. Correspondence of 6 L.A.S. to the Merruau brothers [Charles and Paul] ([Paris] s.l.n.d.) 6 p. ½ and 3 thirds of p. in-8°. Dry stamp with his initials. Friendly correspondence in which Meyerbeer apologizes or apologizes for missed meetings. He regularly invites the Merruau brothers to dinner, evokes various points, "Wednesday" he indicates that a work "... has absorbed me so much for the past eight days that it had been impossible for me to read the manuscript that you were kind enough to send me. Now I'm free... "On Saturday he explained his absence... It is the Conservatory exams that lasted all this week that (cause) I had not come home at the usual time. I am all the more saddened... because I have to talk to you about different things. I'm not sure if I won't be summoned again for the exams on Monday & Tuesday... "... with you dear gentlemen and friends... and Mr. Gouin... at the golden house in Rue Lafitte.... ». Louis Gouin (1780-1856) a sort of artistic agent. He represented Meyerbeer in Paris for more than 25 years.
