The most accomplished of the French sopranos during the inter-war period. She played the Wagnerian roles wonderfully: she played Ariadne in Ariadne à Naxos. She performed at the Bayreuth Festival in 1938 and 1939. There she plays Isolde under the direction of Victor de Sabata with Max Lorenz as her partner.
