SOUPAULT (Philippe) (1897-1990) - Lot 188
SOUPAULT (Philippe) (1897-1990) Signed autograph manuscript (no place or date) 17 p. in-fol. A few additions, bound. Manuscript entitled "Why I wrote songs": "Finding my memories by writing songs is easier than I imagined... Soupault describes his childhood on the rue de la bienfaisance, he dreams in front of his window and attaches great importance to sounds: "the sound of the barrel organ, the cries of the children at school...". "I remember these noises that I found in the songs I wrote later". The manuscript is interspersed with verses (songs?) about the clothes merchant, the days of the week, the matches, the grinder, the snow, the moon... finally adolescence with the parents' reflections. Enclosed: signed and autographed cover letter.
