Original drawings and trial prints for La Guirlande des mois. S.l.n.d. (1917-1921). 71 Indian ink drawings and 39 prints and essays, in sheets. La Guirlande des mois is a 5-volume publication in 16 in format, fully illustrated by George Barbier, which appeared from 1917 to 1921. These five volumes contain literary texts by fashionable authors with numerous drawings, vignettes, ornaments in the text and 31 black and colour plates. The set we present contains drawings with one or more prints, drawings without their prints and prints without the drawings. We describe them below: - 16 original drawings for the covers of which 12 plates and 4 spines, these accompanied by prints in one state (5), 2 states (2) or 3 states (3). - 8 drawings for the plates accompanied by the print run in 2 states (5) or 3 states (3). 5 prints are in colour. - 47 original drawings including a cover, a plate, 19 vignettes, 15 ornaments, 9 pages with frames or drawings to be framed with text and 2 typographical pages. Several vignettes or ornaments are on the same plate. - 39 prints including 5 of the cover, 31 of plates in one state (6), 2 states (8) and 3 states (3), and 3 vignettes. 2 of the plates are in colour.
