ORIGINAL EDITION of this monumental history of Paris by Dom Michel Félibien, Benedictine nun of Saint- Germain-des-Prés, who died before completing his work. This work was continued by Dom Lobineau. Volumes III, IV and V are the supporting documents. A frontispiece by Hallé engraved by Simonneau, 3 vignettes by Hallé engraved by Cochin and Simonneau, a large folding map of Paris engraved by Coquart after Delahaye and 32 plates, sometimes double-page or folding, representing the main monuments and squares of Paris. Of particular note are the very beautiful views of Paris, drawn by Chaufourier. Copy containing a cardboard box in volume I on sheet LXXV. Nice copy despite the restored spine of volume I. A missing cap and snags to 2 others, restorable tears in the folds of 5 plates, including the map of Paris. Stains on a few leaves. Misplaced leaves in volumes I, II and V.
