Pleadings and other works... Paris, Mabre-Cramoisy, 1670. In-4, red morocco, Du Seuil frame with coat of arms, spine with 5 ribs decorated with small irons (contemporary binding). Cioranescu, 1589 / Olivier, 1520 /// (6f.)-741. ORIGINAL EDITION of these pleadings by the greatest lawyer of his time. It was following his reception at the Académie française, at the age of 36, that the high institution decided that all new members should deliver a speech of thanks, so much had it been seduced by the speech delivered by Olivier Patru. Printer's mark on the title, a headband and a cul-de-lampe (repeated 6 times) by François Chauveau. A copy with the arms of Marc-Antoine Mazenod, Lord of Pazevin and the Bastie, lawyer at the Parliament of Lyon. The volume is struck with his arms without the laurel branches. Restored binding with an unevenly insulated cover.
