A burin-engraved portrait by Pierre Gandon, woodcut illustrations in black text by Sylvain Sauvage, woodcut illustrations by Gilbert Poilliot, and 77 stencilled colored non-text plates by Drian, Marty, Leroux, Lydis and Sauvage. The pieces are each illustrated by a different artist: Cyrano de Bergerac by Étienne Drian (12pl.), L'Aiglon by André-E. Marty (16 pl.), Chantecler by Mariette Lydis (15 pl.), Les Romanesques... by Auguste Leroux (16 pl.) and La Samaritaine... by Sylvain Sauvage (18 pl.). Edition at 2275 copies, this one of the 700 copies on Lafuma pure thread vellum (n° 408) with a second state of the plates in black.
