MUSICAL SCORES All these musical scores are bound with the arms of Jean Bouhier, President à Mortier at the Parlement de Bourgogne. The very famous library of President Bouhier was known throughout Europe as one of the richest and most considerable. It contained about 2,000 precious manuscripts and some 35,000 volumes representing the rarest works and the most skilfully decorated volumes. At his death, in 1746, the library became the property of the President's son-in-law Bouhier, Chartraire de Bourgogne, who continued to enrich it by having the volumes stamped with the arms of his father-in-law.
