Numerous drawings around and superimposed on the text and 49 color plates by Alexandre Iacovleff, numbered 1 to 50.
Edition of 1,020 copies, this one of 20 hors commerce, printed entirely on Madagascar-Lafuma for the text and plates, containing a separate edition of the sketches illustrating the author's travel notes as well as those illustrating the specimen. The copy was printed for General Gouraud (n°VIII), Military Governor of Paris.
The suite consists of 10 double plates and an additional plate of unpublished drawings.
