Unidentified photographers. General de Gaulle in Algeria and the U.S.A., two (2) photographs, 1958 and 1960. Vintage silver print 21.1 x 17.5 cm on photographic paper 22.1 x 20.5 cm (U.S.A.) and later silver print (1982) 17.7 x 12.6 cm (Algeria). The photograph in Algeria shows de Gaulle uttering the famous phrase "Je vous ai compris" ("I understand you"). Enclosed are three leaflets supporting the General's action, a printed silk square made for the General's visit on June 4, 1958 (with a magazine describing the object), two LP records on the same subject and two amateur photographs: de Gaulle in Auvergne in 1959.
