In-4, bradel gray glazed calf with traces of cream clouds, first plate decorated with three gilt swallows in the upper right quarter and a white morocco cat in the lower left corner, smooth spine decorated with a special gilt motif, cover and spine, slipcase (Meunier). Monod, I-5592 /// (2f.)-76-(2f.). First edition of this novel set against the backdrop of Montmartre. 33 illustrations by Pierre Vidal, woodcut by Froment père, including 2 for the cover, frontispiece and false-title, and 29 in the text. Edition of 90 copies, this one of 70 on Chine containing a separate suite on Japon pelure (N° 69). Enriched with a state of the frontispiece printed on Japon. A very fine copy in Meunier's publisher's binding, complete with prospectus.
