Charles MALO. Parterre de flore Paris, Janet, s.d. (circa 1820). In-16, blue glazed calf, multiple gilt and cold-stamped fillets and roulettes in frames, cold-stamped lozenge fleurons in center, spine with 4 broadly ornamented nerves, interior roulette, gilt edges (period binding). Nissen, 1268 /// IV-174-(1f.). Charming dissertation on some 70 flowers, complemented by a Poetique du parterre de flore. The work is illustrated with a title and 11 out-of-text flower compositions by Bessa, copper-engraved by Teillard and colored. The work is missing from Pritzel. Binding a little rubbed and some spotting.
