On July 23, he describes himself as "a man" a real one "with a word that counts []"; on July 25, he explains his attitude to her, he dominates his feelings and not the other way around; on July 26, he talks about his model under construction and the approaching parlor; on July 27, he asks her about her strategy for her request for freedom and gives her his opinion: one lawyer should plead, not two; on July 28, he mentions Christian Ranucci's execution: "a head has fallen, nothing to say, except that the method is unworthy of a country that calls itself civilized []"; on July 29, a short letter in which we sense his weariness.
