CHINA, IMPERIAL WORKSHOPS OF BEIJING - YONGZHENG period (1723 - 1735) Covered sorbet and saucer in gold (750 thousandths) decorated with famille rose polychrome painted enamels of passion fruit and hibiscus flower scrolls on a yellow ground, friezes of leaves and ruyi heads, the interior enameled turquoise. The lid features the same motif and is topped with a coral pearl (reported). The saucer is decorated with concentric friezes alternating scrolls of passion fruit flowers and hibiscus on a blue background, and friezes of leaves, ruyi heads and lotus scrolls on a yellow background. On the reverse, the four-character Yongzheng mark in kaishu painted in blue on a white background. (Extensive damage and restoration).
