Galatea, pastoral novel; imitated by Cervantes... Paris, Defer de Maisonneuve, 1793. Large in-4, marbled calf, framed castors, smooth decorated spine, inside castor, gilt edges (contemporary binding). Cohen, 400 / Reynaud, 183 /// 125. One of the few late 18th century works with colour-printed figures. 4 figures engraved by Cazenave (2) and Colibert (2) after Monsiau, printed in colour. Copy on large paper with the figures before the letter and before the numbers, obviously the most frequent condition for this work. Epiderminations and small ink stain reaching the edge of several sheets.
